LOUISIANA FIRE DEPARTMENT DEPLOYS FIRST CNG AMBULANCE

The Bossier City Fire Department in Bossier, Louisiana, has unveiled what they say is the first dedicated CNG ambulance in the state. The Trauma 1 truck was built on a Ford F-650 chassis and features a fully automatic lift, which lifts patients into the back of the ambulance. Excellance, a manufacturing company in Alabama, developed, designed, and constructed the vehicle, which was custom built for Bossier City Fire Department. The fire department, which expects to save around $7,000 per year in fuel costs with the ambulance, plans to purchase another CNG ambulance later this year.
