New NGVAmerica President Takes Office on Monday

NGVAmerica is proud to welcome our new President, Matthew Godlewski, who begins work on Monday, October 20th. Matt was selected after an extensive search process, and was chosen for his experience as a national trade association veteran with more than 20 years of experience building strong teams, developing and executing strategic plans, and working with government officials to shape policy at all levels of government. He was elected by the NGVAmerica Board of Directors at its September 29th meeting.

Matt most recently served as Vice President of State Affairs at the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers. In this role, Matt led the state affairs activities and oversaw its budget, which includes professional staff in Washington and Sacramento, and a large network of consultants across the country. His responsibilities included building consensus among competing interests and then developing strategic plans to advance industry priorities in the states.

Prior to joining the Alliance, Matt held corporate government affairs positions in Washington, DC. He served as Director of State and Federal Policy at Pernod Ricard USA, a division of the Paris-based spirits and wine company. Has also served in the Global External Affairs Office of Seagram and Universal Studios where he lobbied on state and federal issues. A graduate of Michigan State University’s James Madison College, Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in American Public Affairs.

Matt succeeds Rich Kolodziej, who has served as NGVAmerica’s President since 1996. Rich will continue to serve NGVAmerica as Senior Advisor during a transition period.
