Ryder Logs 30 Million Miles on Natural Gas

On Wednesday, Ryder announced that its fleet of NGVs has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 30 million miles. The fleet consists of both CNG and LNG tractors serving customers in California, New York, Michigan, Texas, Arizona, Utah, Maryland, Georgia and Louisiana, as well as in Canada. Since deploying its NGV program in 2011, Ryder has replaced approximately 4.6 million gallons of diesel fuel with natural gas fuel. “We continue to see demand for natural gas vehicles from businesses looking to reduce costs and advance the environmental sustainability of their fleets,” said Ryder President of Global Fleet Management Solutions, Dennis Cooke. Customers draw on Ryder’s knowledge of natural gas, as well as its maintenance network and trained technicians, to ensure the safe operation, maintenance, and fueling of NGVs. Ryder currently operates LCNG fuel stations at its Fontana and Orange, California, service locations. Ryder also offers LNG fueling at its Fulton, Georgia, maintenance facility.
