Clean Energy Opens Public CNG Station Houston to Serve Trucking Fleets

Clean Energy celebrated the opening of its newest CNG station with a ribbon cutting ceremony in Houston, Texas. The ceremony was attended by representatives from Clean Energy, Dillon Transport, JRayl Transport and Silver Eagle Distributors.

“This station is key to our commitment to sustainability and the environment,” said Jeff Dillon, President of Dillon Transport. “Our ability to utilize this station, along with Clean Energy’s entire network of stations, allows us the opportunity to grow as our customers demand cleaner transportation solutions.” Over half of Dillon Transport’s annual fuel consumption is natural gas.

The fast-fill CNG station, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to the public, will support the fueling needs of over 100 heavy duty trucks. The Houston station is now the 65th Clean Energy natural gas fueling station located in Texas, and one of over 550 stations throughout the US and Canada.

“We were an early adopter of natural gas and will continue to grow our use of natural gas as the fueling network expands,” said Ed Prichard, Vice President of Transportation for Silver Eagle Distributors, the second largest beer distributor in the nation. “The stability of the lower prices and cleaner attributes make it a no-brainer to continue to make the switch and utilize Clean Energy expanding network of stations.”
