NGVAmerica Elects New Officers at Annual Meeting & Industry Summit in Charleston
Hexagon Agility’s Seung Baik Elevated to NGVA Chair
Washington, DC – At its recent Annual Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting outside Charleston, South Carolina, NGVAmerica elected new officers to oversee the organization’s operation through 2024:
- President: Daniel Gage, President, NGVAmerica
- Chair: Seung Baik, President, Hexagon Agility
- Vice Chair: Marty Tufte, Corporate Fleet Director, WM
- Treasurer: Puneet Jhawar, General Manager – Global Spark Ignited Business, Cummins Inc.
- Secretary: Jeffrey Clarke, VP, Regulatory & Government Affairs & General Counsel, NGVAmerica
- Past Chair: Jim Arthurs, JD Arthurs & Associates
In addition, four individuals were elected to two-year terms as at-large members of NGVAmerica’s Executive Committee, joining these officers as members of NGVAmerica’s management team:
- At-large: Charlie Ker, Senior Director, Business Development, Westport Fuel Systems
- At-large: Mitchell Pratt, Chief Operating Officer & Corporate Secretary, Clean Energy Fuels
- At-large: Jennifer Stokes, Key Account Manager, CenterPoint Energy
- At-large: Michael Zimmerman, General Manager, Cummins Clean Fuel Technologies
NGVAmerica’s new Chair, Seung Baik, was appointed as President of Hexagon Agility in February of 2019 and is responsible for all activities within Hexagon Agility, a business area of Hexagon Composites. Prior to his current role, Mr. Baik served as Hexagon Agility’s Chief Legal Officer since 2014 and was an integral part of Hexagon Agility’s senior management team. In that role, he oversaw legal and government relations work for Hexagon Agility and navigated the company through the M&A processes with Hexagon, in addition to participating in a variety of commercial, technical and organizational activities. Prior to Hexagon Agility, Mr. Baik practiced law at Goodwin Procter and, prior to that, at Latham & Watkins.
Mr. Baik holds a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Cornell University. He previously served as Vice Chair of the NGVAmerica Board of Directors.
Mr. Baik takes over from Jim Arthurs, a consultant with Westport Fuel Systems, having recently retired as Executive Vice President of the company. Mr. Arthurs joined Westport Fuel Systems in 2011 and oversaw the development of Westport’s heavy-duty engine and fuel system technologies, including the Westport HPDI system. Mr. Arthurs was previously Chair of the Board of Directors of Cummins Westport Inc., a joint venture company owned equally by Cummins Inc. and Westport Fuel Systems.
Mr. Arthurs holds a BSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary. Arthurs served as NGVAmerica Chair from 2020 to 2022. He previously served as Vice Chair and, prior to that, as Treasurer.
In addition to electing a new slate of officers, NGVAmerica reappointed one-half of its Board of Directors to new two-year terms and welcomed a representative of one new NGVAmerica sustaining member company – American CNG – to the board.
